국제 물 안보 이슈(GWSI) 시리즈 1: 물 안보와 지속가능발전목표​ 발간

2015년 세계물포럼 각료선언문에서 21세기 지구 사회 공동목표로 ＇물 안보 기반 강화＇가 채택되었으며, 유네스코는 국제수문학프로그램(IHP) 8단계 사업의 주제로  ‘물 안보 증진’을 선정하였습니다. 국제사회의 물 안보 증진에 대한 큰 관심과 노력만큼, 물  안보 개선사례에 대한 심층적인 분석의 필요성 또한 높아지고 있습니다. 이에 센터는 유네스코 본부와 공동으로 물 안보 개선사례들을 담은 ‘국제 물 안보 이슈(GWSI)’ 시리즈를 발간하였습니다.

첫 GWSI의 주제로 ‘물 안보와 지속가능발전목표’가 선정되었습니다. 물 안보를 기술, 사회, 경제, 환경과 거버넌스의 관점에서 기술한 이번 호는 물 안보 최신 이슈를 얻고자 하는 실무자, 연구자, 정책입안자 등 물 관련 종사자 모두에게 유익한 정보를 제공할 것입니다. 

i-WSSM은 GWSI 시리즈를 통해 물 안보 개선 우수 사례를 공유하고, 효과적인 물 안보 역량강화에 필요한 양질의 정보를 제공하고자 합니다.

Publication of the first edition of Global Water Security Issues (GWSI) series: ‘Water Security and the Sustainable Development Goals'.

i-WSSM and UNESCO co-published the first edition of the Global Water Security Issues (GWSI) series, ‘Water Security and the Sustainable Development Goals'.

The GWSI series is aiming to provide a starting point for discussion on a range of issues that collectively fall under the umbrella of water security, identifying the present issues, broadening discourses, bringing regional cases to the center, and sharing diverse perspectives.

In response to demand, UNESCO and UNESCO International Centre for Water Security and Sustainable Management (i-WSSM) co-published the Global Water Security Issues (GWSI) series with the aim of providing a starting point for discussion on a range of issues that collectively fall under the umbrella of water security, identifying the present issues, broadening discourses, bringing regional cases to the center, and sharing diverse perspectives.

The first edition of the GWSI series, ‘Water Security and the Sustainable Development Goals’, provides rich explanations on the related issues of water security while taking into context various aspects such as technology, society, economy, environment, and governance. The first edition sheds lights on how the approaches to water security play important roles to achieve multiple priority development areas including good health and well-being, clean water and sanitation, climate action, and conservation and restoration of ecosystems. ​
