UNESCO and UNESCO i-WSSM published their second series of Global Water Security Issues in 2020.
The theme for this second publication is water reuse within a circular economy context.
Water reuse is central to implementation of a circular economy model since it plays critical roles throughout the economy. Furthermore, the importance of water cannot be overstated while it provides essential services for basic human needs and safety. Water reuse is a key strategy for water security.
In this series, 34 authors from 18 different institutions include international organizations, academia, and industry with 42% of women authors. In this series, it explores the fundamental principle of water reuse, decision-making for water reuse, understanding challenges, key stakeholders of water reuse, and technology.
