The Center contributed an article titled "Outlook and Market Entry Strategies for the Central Asian Water Industry" to the May 2026 issue of Water Journal, authored by Kim Dong-gyun, Team Leader at the Center (on dispatch from K-water Institute).
Drawing on its years of experience hosting training programs in Korea for water-related officials and experts from five Central Asian countries, the Center presented in the article an analysis of each country's water demand based on local surveys, matched against domestic Korean water technologies. The analysis identified common needs in pollution reduction, water resource monitoring, and irrigation system modernization, and the Center recommended developing a phased market entry strategy and commercialization roadmap.
This contribution is significant in that it drew on the Center's on-the-ground network in Central Asia and its water demand research capacity to outline a direction for Korea's water industry to expand abroad.
This milestone was also featured in a report by Water Journal.
